The Prenatal Program is comprised of a series of prenatal courses about labour and delivery, how childbirth affects a woman physically and emotionally, and parenting a newborn. It is designed around expectant mothers, particularly those in Mainland South, who are facing parenthood alone or with other challenges. Our Prenatal coordinator provides one-to-one prenatal support also.
This program focuses on supporting mothers and babies in the first six months after birth. The goals of the program are to increase new mothers’ competency and satisfaction in parenting. It also aids in preparing them for and reducing the stresses on new mothers, and to help them make linkages to community resources.
